GENERAL INFORMATION:
Alanase Hayfever is used for short term treatment and prevention of seasonal allergic rhinitis (nasal inflammation), including hayfever. It works by reducing swelling and inflammation in the nose.

Alanase Hayfever can be used throughout the hayfever season to treat the common symptoms of hayfever such as sneezing and a runny, itchy or blocked-up nose. When your nose is cleared the pressure and pain around your nose is also reduced.If used properly sufferers should be able to do the things they want to do without worrying about troublesome hayfever symptoms.

DOSAGE:
Recommended dose for adults and children over 12;
Two sprays in each nostril every morning and evening. (A full explanation of how to use this nasal spray is included with each pack - please read carefully before using Alanase Hayfever ).

Alanase Hayfever will not cause drowsiness.
Alanase Hayfever starts to work immediately, but may take 2-3 days to build up to its maximum protective effect. Alanase Hayfever is not intended to give rapid relief of your nasal symptoms. Alanase Hayfever controls the underlying disorders responsible for your attacks so it is important to use it regularly.

Beclomethasone dipropionate 50mcg USP.

PRECAUTIONS & CONTRANDICATIONS:
The following can affect your treatment:

• Recent nasal surgery
• Underactive adrenal gland
• Nasal or sinus infection
• Respiratory infection
• Tuberculosis
• Nose injury
• Viral infection
• Glaucoma
• Tendency toward blood clotting disorders or a history of nose bleeds.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS:
Needed with breast feeding as this drug will pass into the breast milk.

• This medicine should not be used for longer than SIX months without your doctors advice.
• This medicine should not be used in children under SIX years of age. Possible side effects:Although medicines have side-effects, most people do not experience any. If you experience any side effects please contact us or your doctor.

OTHER INFORMATION:
Hayfever, allergic rhinitis, is the inflammation in the nasal passage caused by an allergic reaction to harmless foreign particles, resulting in symptoms such as nasal blockage, sneezing, running nose, and for some people, headaches.

HOW TO USE ALANASE:
Refer to the Alanase package insert on "How to use nasal spray".
If possible begin Alanase treatment 1 - 2 weeks before exposure to known allergies.
Use Alanase regularly. i.e. every day for best effect.

ALANASE DOSAGE:
Do not use more than the dose recommended.
If you miss a dose of alanase take the next dose as soon as possible. If it is nearly time for the next dose skip the missed one and return to the normal schedule.

EXPECTED OUTCOME OF ALANASE:
Alanase nasal spray works as a preventer. While symptoms may start to improve within a few days, it may take from between 2 to 7 days before full effect of Alanase is achieved. To maintain the full effect the treatment needs to be used continuously.

POSSIBLE ADVERSE EFFECTS OF ALANASE:
Dry mouth, nose and throat, unpleasant taste after using the spray headache, nose bleeds.
May cause sneezing for the first few days of use.

PRECAUTIONS:
Do not get the Alanase spray in your eyes. If you do, wash out immediately with lots of water.
Do not use more than the dose recommended by your pharmacist or doctor.

OTHER ADVICE:
If you know what causes the allergy then try to avoid it.
Discard the Alanase nasal spray 3 months after first using it.

WHEN TO SEEK FURTHER HELP:
If symptoms get worse or there is no improvement within 7 days come back to the pharmacy.
